Unable to Book a Meeting Room from a Tablet ("Something went wrong")

If users receive a "Something went wrong" error when attempting to book a meeting room directly from a room tablet, the most common cause is that the meeting room is not associated with any activity in the Spaceti administration.

Without an assigned activity, the tablet cannot load the required booking configuration and therefore cannot create reservations.

Symptoms

Users may experience one or more of the following:

  • Booking from the room tablet fails.

  • The message "Something went wrong" is displayed.

  • Existing room information may be visible, but new bookings cannot be created from the tablet.

  • The issue affects only specific meeting rooms while other rooms continue to work normally.

Cause

The meeting room is not linked to an activity within the organizational structure (Departments/Activities).

Room tablets rely on this configuration to determine booking permissions and reservation settings. If the activity association is missing, the tablet cannot process booking requests.

Resolution

Step 1: Verify the Room Configuration

  1. Open the Spaceti Administration.

  2. Navigate to Departments.

  3. Locate the department responsible for the affected meeting room.

  4. Verify that the room is associated with an active activity.

Step 2: Link the Activity

If no activity is assigned:

  1. Edit the department or activity configuration.

  2. Associate the appropriate activity with the meeting room.

  3. Save the changes.

Step 3: Test the Booking

  1. Return to the room tablet.

  2. Attempt to create a new reservation.

  3. Confirm that the booking is created successfully.

Additional Notes

  • This issue typically affects only rooms with missing configuration.

  • If multiple rooms are experiencing the same problem, review activity assignments across all affected rooms.

  • If the problem persists after linking the activity, contact Spaceti Support and provide the room name, location, and a screenshot or video of the behavior.
