Spaceti leverages WorkOS, our SSO and Active Directory (AD) sync API provider, as a normalization layer to facilitate seamless AD synchronization across various providers.
WorkOS handles user and group data updates through webhooks, ensuring that Spaceti stays current with directory changes. Data synchronization is automatic once configured.
Steps to Activate the Synchronization:
Create an organization:
In the WorkOS Dashboard, create an organization that represents your directory connection.Notify Spaceti:
Once the connection to WorkOS is active (via the setup link), please inform us at support@spaceti.com that your directory is connected and provide your account ID.This step is crucial because, although AD synchronization is fully automatic once enabled, we need to activate your directory ID in our system to pair your WorkOS account with your Spaceti account.
Until this is done, synchronization will not function correctly.

How long does it take to synchronize data?
Synchronization typically takes between 10 minutes and one hour, depending on the size of your directory data.
If I remove a user from AD, will the change be reflected in Spaceti?
Yes, deletions are synchronized, and the user will be removed from Spaceti accordingly.
I made changes before the initial connection was enabled, and they aren’t reflected in Spaceti. What should I do?
Since synchronization wasn’t active at that time, those changes weren't captured. Please contact support@spaceti.com to help migrate or manually update your existing data.
If I remove a group from AD, will the group be deleted from Spaceti?
Currently, groups are tied to departments and spaces within Spaceti. If you delete a user group, the associated department may fail or become inactive, but the group itself isn't automatically removed from the system unless explicitly managed.
