How to choose a proper display/tablet for a Meeting room display app?

MOTIVATION

You are a customer/end-user who wants to use Spaceti's room booking solution tailored for tablets - seamlessly integrated with calendars, receiving real-time updates, and enjoying cross-device functionality for effortless meeting space reservations on the go.

REQUIREMENTS

Android tablets minimal requirements:

  • Operating system Android 7+

  • 2GB RAM and more

Connectivity:

  • (recommended) PoE (Power over Ethernet) to combine power and data

  • (optional) WiFi

  • (optional) power from the mains socket

Apple tablets with iPadOS or iOS are not supported at the moment.

The display/tablet should have installed Google Play for automatic updates of the app, if the tablet doesn’t have Google Play, please consult with Spaceti (we can offer distribution of APK, but you will miss the option to get automatic updates without a manual intervention).

The tablet should be marked as a digital signage tablet. Normal consumer Android tablets would work too, but they have the following issues:

  • Constant power supply might damage the battery (in a matter of years).

  • There is no ability to hide the navigation buttons bar, so any user can go back to the Android menu and open some other app.

  • No automatic app opening after tablet restart.

  • any other Android tablet following the requirement above - please consult with Spaceti
