New Customer-Facing Feature: Extended Device Authorisation Flow

A new, third activation option has been added to the Meeting Room App:
Remote Device Activation & Remote Space Assignment via the Web Admin Dashboard.

This extends the existing OAuth 2.0 Device Authorisation Flow and enables system administrators to:

  • Activate a device fully remotely

  • Assign the device to a room (Building → Floor → Space)

  • Configure related settings

  • Complete the entire onboarding workflow without touching the tablet

The new flow consists of two stages:

1️⃣ Stage One — Remote Device Authorisation

When a new device displays a User Code, the backend sends this information to the Hardware Management Dashboard, where the tablet appears under Pending Registration. The administrator can remotely confirm the code and complete the OAuth process, issuing a JWT token to the device.

Remote Device Authorisation Steps (Tablet)

Step 1: Install and launch the newest Meeting Room App.

Step 2: On the Activate Your Device screen, choose Start remote activation.
